Provide policy analysis, support and coordination on emerging habitat issues for Commission and member tribes to advance habitat protection and restoration objectives necessary to the protection of tribal treaty rights and resources. Analyze, advise and support development of habitat protection approaches to address treaty-resource issues. Assist in the implementation and advancement of the tribal habitat strategy designed to address tribal issues and priorities. Evaluate and provide written analysis on specific issues, processes and state and federal rule-making. Coordinate tribal input, provide analysis and response options on existing and emerging issues important to the protection and recovery of tribal rights and resources. Organize and facilitate tribal meetings as necessary to enhance and maintain inter-tribal communication, strategy discussions, data sharing and generalized program processes. Provide issue status reports to the NWIFC Environmental Policy Committee and the board of commissioners on a routine basis.
