JOB SUMMARY

Fisheries Technician 1 level: This is an entry-level position with responsibility for performing a variety of semi-skilled and semi-technical tasks relating to fisheries management. Assist in stream and clam bed surveys, brood stocking, catch sampling, marking and tagging fish, and recording field data into notebooks. May work independently for periods of time.

Fisheries Technician 2 level: Perform a variety of semi-skilled and semi-technical tasks relating to fisheries management as described in Fisheries Technician 1, above. May on occasion provide group leadership during seasonal projects.

Fisheries Technician 3 level: Perform a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and semi-technical tasks relating to fisheries management, as described in Fisheries Technician 1, above. May organize and perform biological field work on a variety of species of salmon, shellfish, and groundfish. May supervise or provide group leadership of lower-level technicians on an assignment basis.
