Crabbers feeling the pinch
Jan 28th, 2008 • Category: NWIFC BlogThe Bellingham Herald has a story about a Nooksack tribal crabber:
(Jeff) Williams, a Nooksack Indian, has been fishing since the 1970s. He estimates that fewer than 12 of the 1,900-member Nooksack tribe are fishing commercially these days — a major shift for a tribe where everyone once made a living harvesting seafood from the salt water and salmon from the river that bears their name.
